Raised Crosswalks in New York City

In the post “Curb Cuts (3)” on this page, I noted a raised crosswalk on the Grand Concourse in the Bronx (pictured), probably a “pilot” installation, as an excellent step toward traffic calming and pedestrian safety. Now New York City will install 150 of these as reported by The New York Times: NYC Looks to Add Raised Crosswalks to Make Intersections Safer - The New York Times (nytimes.com). This is an exciting development. I’m interested to see where these will go and hope these will not be the last.
